Lupita Nyong’o isn’t the only star making headlines for taking disadvantaged kids to the cinemas to see one of the most empowering things to happen to black film, Black Panther. As it turns out some stars in Nigeria, Africa’s msot populated country, is following her footsteps too.
Ugochi Ihezue who won the most beautiful girl Nigeria pageant in 2017 and made headlines for winning top model at the Miss World pageant in China and who also made it to the top 15, treated some less privileged kids to see Black Panther. The movie which has gathered world wide acclaim for portraying Africa in excellent light as a continent with vast resources and techonological advancement was well timed.
We applaud her for making such an effort to uplift the spirits of the young children. Children, are indeed the future of tomorrow and this message can only be further entrenched where they are exposed to a society who is not only accepting of them but one that has futuristic leaders who look like them.
Her treat was given in partnership with NGO, slum2school.
