Turmeric is amazing for blemishes as it is antibacterial (thereby killing any acne causing bacteria on the skin) and it is anti inflammatory (reduces the size of blackheads). It is also great for fading acne scars and has brightening qualities that help with dull skin.
After trying the Turmeric Black Acne Soap from Celebglow, I fell in love with this super ingredient and wanted to have it in everything I used on my skin. My scrub is a mix of turmeric oil and brown sugar, all I was missing was a mask.
A friend of mine had struggled with acne scarring for a while, after trying out several chemical cleansers and toners, she was advised to go natural. After doing some research online, she found out about the wonders of Bentonite Clay and Turmeric and proceeded to trying it. Boy did it work wonders! Her skin which is naturally chocolate dark has a brightness to it that it had never before had. I was sold! She gave me her recipe for the mask and I had to share.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of Bentonite Clay and 1/2 tablespoon of Turmeric in water just enough to make a nice mix.
- Leave on for about 40 minutes,
- Rinse off well with warm water and moisturise.
- Avoid using make-up for 24hours
