When Fear Cripples You

When Fear Cripples You

So you have all these goals that you’ve listed, the dreams you’d like to achieve, the vision you want for yourself but they all scare you. Rightfully so. You should be afraid. In fact if your dreams don’t make you anxious, you’re not doing it right.

This is where the holy Spirit comes in to give you some required direction and to silence the fear in your heart. Fear doesn’t always have to be a terrible thing. In fact. It is said that the right amount of nerves is a good thing for performers, something about the anxiety enables them perform better. I like to think that it works the same way with any career or business path.

So for everything you’re hoping to achieve, it will require getting out of your own way. To get out of your own way, you’ll need to do it afraid. You’ll need to strive to work your way past your fear and just go for it!

I want to tell you that there are steps to this but it’s not so clear-cut. Prayer always helps. It will put you in the mind frame you need to enable you to regain your balance when fear cripples you. It also helps when you enlist the help of the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 1:7 New King James Version (NKJV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The idea deal that you have to wait for fear to subside before going for it is highly mistaken. You need to simply do it afraid. So when fear cripples you, you don’t always get back up before walking forward, sometimes, you’ll have to crawl your way to the finish line. As you learn to do it even when you’re most afraid, you’ll learn to take on whatever life throws your way. As you surpass each hurdle, you’ll realize how weak fear truly is and slowly you’ll keep hitting those targets.
